What happens

Lan Hạ Bay, overnight, on a small boat with eight guests at most. Most small boats into the bay leave from Gót pier on Cát Hải or from Bến Bèo on Cát Bà, two and a half to three hours from Hanoi by road.

We leave the lake in a small van.

We board at the pier and head into the bay.

Lunch on board, then a stop to swim and to paddle into a small bay.

We anchor for the night, away from the other boats. Dinner on deck.
